The fully automatic pipe connection system ECO-MATRIX™ is based on a
compact tank outlet tree. The short vertical pipe in combination with the
ECO-MATRIX™ double-seat valve guarantees good cleaning conditions and minimum
losses. With the new ECO-FENCE™ system, the ECO-MATRIX™ concept is now also
applied to manual piping technology.
How does it work?
In the innovative ECO-MATRIX™ piping system, the process lines
and valves are connected directly beneath the tank outlet. The process valves
can be arranged either laterally at the tank outlet tree or vertically at the
tank bottom flange.
The pipe system is separated from the tank and
enables complete product discharge and pipe cleaning processes to be performed
independently of tank cleaning. In comparison with conventional piping systems,
the cost of instrumentation is reduced. Product losses during the process are
minimized.
Optimization of cleaning times
The
optimum hygienic design of the ECO-MATRIX™ system allows cleaning times to be
optimized. As cleaning the horizontal tank outlet pipe makes up the bulk of the
work, the absence of this operation when using the ECO-MATRIX™ system frees up
the tanks, providing a simple way of obtaining more capacity. Consistently
implemented, this can even reduce the number of tanks required for a desired
capacity. The table shows the extent of the cleaning work.
Cost-beneficial systems
The ECO-MATRIX™
concept has a highly positive effect on the costs of tank piping and the
running costs. The following example will illustrate this cost advantage by
comparing two fully automatic tank farms, one in conventional design and one
with the ECO-MATRIX™ system.
